Could not get this app to work it is a total waste of money

I've had this app for 5 years and loved it. It stopped working, so I erased and reinstalled it. Still does not translate at all!

If you are not really listening - you may miss what is being said and then there is no way to repeat the voice sentance without doing is all over again....NIGHTMARE

Bought it for a trip bit the Spanish does not work, I wonder what it would translate in another lenguage.......

This is the main reason that I purchased the app. I want my money refunded.

Rip off does not translate spoken Danish to English.

Not worth buying folks. The App dose not say/voice the translated words or sentences for you. It writes in a given language. If you are an English speaker it's worthless. I wanted to hear Farsi. It’s waste of money.

This app does not work well for me at all it's almost like other microphones and translations the voice is not clear mispronunciations just don't work if it's only I can get my money back please let me know

I really like this app a lot. It seems to translate accurately. I just have a few issues with it: When you speak, it doesn't punctuate. I wish it would speak the translations. There should be an easier way to erase a former entry than backspacing. You should only have to click on one button to make the last entry disappear. I hope the creators of this app read this review and change the last thing in particular!

I was under the impression that this app could translate spoken Russian to English. It works OK the other way around, but I do not need that from this app. PLEASE make very clear what this app does before we have to spend money on it, only to discover that it does not perform as advertised.

Talks too fast

this app lacks the functionality advertised, the volume and speed do not work at all. the speak to microphone does not translate well at all; whether you dictate in English or any Romanesque languages groups.... the function is poorly translated to text. Do not buy.

I have several translator apps. This one is worth every penny. Will translate your voice into MULTIPLE languages, write it, and can flip back and forth between say Eng --> Spanish and reverse.

The voice recognition was absolutely terrible, the speech was terrible, and the app is terrible. I want my three dollars back

Fails to translate and to accurately type correct words mic records, instead the word processing is very poor and needs improving. Common senseless phrases appear in many languges even if pronunciation was correct and slow. Deffinetly wouldnt recommend this app for serious work. Good only for fun. I hope this helps.

This app should be relocated to the "Entertainment" category... Probably would be better rated... I want my money back!

I don't see any problems with app... Text to speech is a little robotic though, but the speech recognition is great

It takes a little time to figure out how the app works, but I like it a lot! It has many more languages than shown on iTunes: English, Spanish, French, Italian, German, Dutch, Chinese. It also has Korean, Japanese, Russian, Afrikaans, Albanian, Arabic, Belarusian, Catalan, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Estonian, Tagalog, Finish, Galician, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Icelandic, Indonesian, Irish, Latvian, Lithuanian, Macedonian, Malay, Maltese, Norwegian, Persian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Serbian, Slovak, Slovenian, Swahili, Swedish, Thai, Turkish, Ukranian, Vietnamese, Welsh, and Yiddish! You choose the input language and the language into which you want your spoken words or written text translated. The original text is displayed (even if you spoke the words) and the translation appears in the alphabet of the selected language. When you press the arrow, you hear the words spoken in the translated language. You can keep the same input and translate it into any of the other languages. Some of the languages are spoken too fast even if you put the "speed" arrow on the slowest level, but others (like Portuguese) are spoken at an appropriate speed. It would be better if the volume were louder, but it's generally acceptable. All the translations I tested in Spanish, French, Portuguese, Korean, and Chinese seemed accurate. The interesting thing is that if 2 people who spoke different languages both had this app on their iPhones or iPads, they could communicate rather easily! For example, if I were speaking to someone who doesn't know English but speaks Greek, I could speak or write English and have the app say it and display my words in Greek. Then, the other person could answer in Greek and have his/her iPhone app answer in spoken and written English! The conversation would be a bit torturous, but possible!

This program is a worthless piece of crap. It is incredibly slow, if it works at all. Don't waste your money. Google translate is free and works incredibly well.

It simply doesn't work. It gets stuck loading and then... nothing. Annoying and a waste of money.

This app is a waste of time and money.

The Settings options of a) Volume. b) Speed. c) Change voice type, do not work. Volume output is very low despite the slider set at max. The Speed slider has no effect on speed, which is too fast. There are 12 voice type options. The voice remains the same on all settings. This app needs to be reworked. In its present form it is a waste of money.

This thing doesn't work at all with iPhone...not a word, no voice, no virtual typing, nothing!!! Don't buy this stupid app! I want my money back!!!!!

Pictures don't even match the app. Don't buy. You type in your language and it speaks in robot. But you will probably get a reply and won't understand. The problem is there is no way of easily reversing the languages.

It isn't clear that you need internet to use it, that doesn't worth for Ipod touch

I think this app would be better if we can slow the speaker down a lot more. Some of the translation is a little too literal. Keep improving!!

This thing didn't work from the first time i loaded it. totally worthless! i want my money back

Dont miss the "network is required for any translation".... this app will not translate anything unless you are connected to a network... why not just use the web then??? useless for translations in ares where you may not have mobile service or wifi...

I am a military member currently overseas. My phone is in airplane mode to avoid international charges and I can't get Wi-Fi everywhere. I bought the translator so I could use it when I need it out in the city. Little did I know, you need an internet connection to use it. What good is that? When I have an internet connection, I could just get on google translate for free. Thanks for nothing.

Now I am very uncomfortable with iTunes too. They should take responsibility for what they sell! They should not sell this product or they should offer money back on products that do not function!

I use this app nearly every day and it works just fine. I am fluent in english and french so I can really compare. Only very few times it could not translate. And the voice translator is not perfect but works fine. Don't forget it's a machine, not a human.

This program does not work was under the impresion that you could speak to the iphone and it would translate to whatever language you want, it does not do this and if you can get the keyboard to work you have midget fingers good luck!...You should give refunds!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You should correct the spelling of "translat(e)r" to translator. It's spelled correctly on before you buy it, but after it pops up on your home screen it's displayed under the icon as translat(e)r.

This is really a zero star program. I've tried to get a credit for this purchase, because it is useless if you understand even a little of any of the languages translated. Some of the translations are laughable and would make you the laughing stock of any interlocutor you play the audio file to. Unfortunately, iTunes sends me to the Alterme site to cancel, and there's nothing that can be done at that site. This makes me very uncomfortable with iTunes and it will be a long time before I ever buy anything else from iTunes again.

Application does not translate any language; it simply does not translate. The keypad could not open! Deleted application and lost $2.99. Need to find a good translator for Asian languages.

The speed of the voice is not adjustable anymore and is very fast, you can't understand a thing. Please fix it.

Add German and a voice for japanese

I love this app. I think it's funny sometimes but it is convenient the only reason I think it's funny is because suka is b*tch in polish and the words sound funny. But if I were to go to another country it would help.
